Privacy policy of the AI Free Day site

This document describes how we process the data of people who visit the AI Free Day site at https://aifreeday.com and https://dzienbezai.pl (the Polish version; together the "Site").

Who the controller is

The controller of personal data related to the use of the Site is the AI Business Center Foundation (Fundacja AI Business Center), ul. Mickiewicza 29, 40-085 Katowice, Poland, KRS: 0001223578, NIP 6343067656 (the "Foundation").

For any matter related to the processing of personal data, write to hello@aibusiness.center.

What this Site does and does not do

The Site informs about AI Free Day and offers the files of the "design by a HUMAN" mark for download. It has no forms, registration, newsletter, advertising pixels or content embedded from other services (videos, maps, social media). Fonts are served from our own server, not from external services.

The only tool that requires your consent is Google Analytics. We start it only once you agree to it in the consent panel; without consent the Site sends no data to Google.

Cookies and browser storage

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer, phone or other device. Browser storage (localStorage) works in a similar way: the Site keeps settings in it that never leave your device.

On your first visit the Site shows the panel "We respect your privacy", where you can accept or reject statistics or choose your settings. You can always come back to the consent panel via the "Manage cookies" link in the Site's footer and change your decision there. You can also change cookie settings in your browser.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. Once you withdraw consent, the Site deletes the Google Analytics cookies from its domain and stops running it.

A. Necessary cookies and settings

These make the Site work the way you chose. They are not used for tracking, are not shared with other companies and cannot be switched off in the consent panel:

You can delete them at any time in your browser settings; the Site will then return to its default settings and ask for consent again.

If you consent to "Statistics", we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects, for example: the number and length of visits, the date of a visit, the page you came from, links you click (including downloading a mark file), device and browser type and approximate location. What we receive are statistical reports; they do not identify a specific person.

Google Analytics stores the cookies "_ga" and "_ga_<identifier>" on your device (up to 2 years). We have switched off Google Signals and all advertising and ad-personalisation features; the data is not used for advertising. We keep event data in Google Analytics for 14 months. Both domains of the Site are measured in one property, so moving from one to the other is not counted as a new visit.

More about how Google Analytics works: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245. You can also block Google Analytics permanently in your browser with the add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The legal basis for the necessary cookies and settings (A) is our legitimate interest in running the Site the way you choose (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). The legal basis for Google Analytics (B) is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.

Server logs

Like every website, the Site is delivered by a server that records basic technical information each time a page is displayed: IP address, date and time, the address of the page, browser and system type. This is used only to keep the Site running and secure, including protection against attacks.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the Site running and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not combine this data with other data and do not use it for profiling.

Contacting us and the media contact

If you write to the Foundation, we process the data from that correspondence (such as your name, e-mail address and the content of your message) in order to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

AI Free Day communications and media relations are handled by Brand Semantics P.S.A. Messages sent to the media contact address given on the Site go to Brand Semantics P.S.A., which handles that correspondence.

Who receives the data

Your data may be processed on our behalf by:

Vercel and Google have their seat or affiliated entities in the USA, so data may be transferred to a country outside the European Union. Such transfers are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision under the Data Privacy Framework (more: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/s/european-individuals) and, for any entity that does not take part in it, on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

The Site links to other services, including the Foundation's site https://aibusiness.center and research sources. Once you move to another site, its owner's privacy policy applies.

You can exercise your rights free of charge by writing to hello@aibusiness.center.

How long we process data

We process data for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, and data from correspondence also for as long as claims related to it could arise. The "afd_consent" and "afd_lang" cookies expire after 12 months; the "afd-theme" and "afd-a11y" settings stay in your browser until you delete them. Data in Google Analytics is kept for 14 months.
